Frequently Asked Questions
Hiring an Interior Designer: How It Works
1. Initial Meeting & Project Brief
We begin by taking the time to understand your needs, personal style, and lifestyle. During this stage, we carry out a detailed site visit, capturing measurements and photographs of each space while assessing all practical considerations such as timelines, budgets, and any specific requirements.
Following the briefing stage, we prepare a tailored proposal that outlines the project brief as we understand it, along with an estimated FF&E budget and our design fee.
2. Concept Development
Building on the brief, we begin shaping the design vision. We present a full concept proposal including:
Scaled floor plans with proposed furniture layouts
Any suggested structural or spatial changes
Mood boards illustrating the look and feel of the project
Samples of finishes, materials, and furniture concepts
Once presented, we invite your feedback to ensure our direction aligns perfectly with your aspirations.
3. Design Development
After the concept is approved, we refine every detail. This stage includes:
Final furniture and lighting selections
Bespoke joinery designs
Interior architectural drawings
Final finishes, artwork, and accessories
An itemised cost breakdown aligned with the approved budget
This ensures full clarity and confidence before moving into implementation.
4. Installation & Project Delivery
A detailed programme of works is created and agreed upon, covering all site requirements. We manage the entire process from start to finish, including:
FF&E procurement
Coordination of deliveries
Installation and on-site styling
Attendance at site meetings
Oversight of all contractors to ensure accurate execution
We remain involved through to the final snagging, ensuring the design is delivered to the highest standard.
What is a curated furniture & accessories package?
A curated furniture and accessories package is a tailored selection of furniture, décor, and styling items chosen specifically for your space, lifestyle, and design goals.
It offers a complete, ready-to-implement solution without requiring a full interior design service.
Rather than sourcing items yourself, you receive a professionally designed package that ensures:
A cohesive look
The right scale, style, and functionality
Quality options that suit your budget
A beautifully finished and livable space
It’s perfect for clients who want expert design direction and a polished result, but don’t need full-scale project management or custom design work.
How does your pricing structure work?
We charge on a project-by-project basis, as every client’s requirements are unique.
Our Initial Site Visit / Design Consultation is £300.00 (excl. VAT).
Depending on the scale of the project, we either charge:
a one-off upfront fee, or
a fixed fee paid in stages throughout the project.
We include expert guidance, a curated design direction service for residential and commercial spaces, including layout recommendations and suggested trades for implementation. Please note: clients are responsible for ensuring compliance with all local regulations.
What is soulful design?
Soulful design is an approach to interiors that goes beyond aesthetics. It focuses on creating spaces that feel deeply personal, meaningful, and emotionally connected to the people who inhabit them. Rather than following trends, soulful design draws from a client’s story, lifestyle, values, and the atmosphere they want to feel every day.
It’s about crafting interiors that:
Feel lived-in, warm, and authentic
Reflect a client’s personality and experiences
Prioritise comfort, ease, and emotional wellbeing
Blend beauty with intention and functionality
Evoke a sense of calm, joy, and belonging
Soulful design is essentially design with depth—spaces that don’t just look good but feel good.
